102 years ago today this photograph was made of second-hand-book seller and her stand on the Place de la Bastille.
224 years ago the Bastille prison housed prohibited books, considered as dangerous as prisoners accused of crimes against the crown.
And 224 years ago today, that prison was stormed by angry mobs at the start of the French Revolution.
